UPCOMING BOOK TOUR EVENTS for Sister Novelists
|
![]() Thank you for sharing the joy in launching Sister Novelists this week! It's been a whirlwind, from a review in the Washington Post, to my essay about taking 20 years to write a book in LitHub; from the first book event to the interview on KJZZ. I'm so grateful to all of you who are buying the book, sharing photos, and spreading news of this first biography of talented, loving sisters, wrongly forgotten by literary history. (I love these beautiful flowers sent by amazing editor at Bloomsbury US, Grace McNamee, publicist Rosie, and marketing director Lauren!)

![]() I'm so excited to announce this. An excerpt from my book was published in Smithsonian! I'm incredibly grateful to its marvelous editors for giving readers this first look at Sister Novelists. Check out the gorgeous image they created, too! Then I hope you'll want to read the piece. ![]() Wow. A five-star review on Austenprose.com! It means so much to me that this reviewer found Sister Novelists: "a triumphant and moving biography, drawing the revolutionary Porter sisters out of literary obscurity and into prominence once more" and "surrogate wish-fulfillment" for Janeites. Here's hoping this book resonates and moves readers, as it did this reviewer. The book launches on October 25th! ![]() Virtual events! I'm excited to share the first of several upcoming virtual book tour events for Sister Novelists: Join me at the 5th annual Austen Con, a Melbourne-based in-person & online gathering on November 4/5, depending on your time zone. I'll be in conversation with Austen Connection's Janet Saidi for "Regency Women Breaking the Rules." (A full digital access ticket is $20 AUS.) ![]() Friends in Arizona! Might you join me at Changing Hands-Phoenix on Mon. Oct. 24th at 6 p.m.? That'll be the in-person launch for my new book, Sister Novelists. It's not yet officially announced on the site, but I'll be in conversation with the fabulous Paula Byrne. It would mean so much to see you there! The book can be pre-ordered here, too. ![]() Thanks, Kirkus, for the starred review. I feel so fortunate that the book made it into the hands of a reviewer who understood and appreciated it. Having this labor of love declared a "triumph of literary detective work" and "a must-read for the Austen and Brontë crowd"? I'm incredibly thankful for it! |
